Total Tools Tingalpa is looking for a Full-Time Assistant Accountant, who has a real passion to provide the highest level of accounting and administration support to enable the store to exceed customer expectations and support meeting the overall store performance levels.

What will you be doing?

  • Record and reconcile bank transactions and credit card statements.
  • Assist with supplier payment runs and process any ad hoc/overhead invoices and supplier’s rebates
  • Produce monthly financial statements such as year-end and interim accounts such as balance sheet, income & expenditure, cash payments, and debtor statement reports for all stores.
  • Ensure compliance with tax obligations and assist with the preparation of BAS, IAS and annual tax returns.
  • Formulate general expenses analysis and commentary versus budget and last year actual.
  • Assisting the accounting team with month end reporting processes including posting journals, calculations of accruals and performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitor and analyse general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with reconciliations of client and supplier accounts to statements.
  • Assisting in the preparation of cashflow forecasts
  • Oversee the daily activities of the team, including task assignment, prioritization, and performance management.
  • Maintain fixed asset register.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of current processes and procedures.
  • Assist and liaise with Receiving to ensure goods received/returned in a timely manner.
  • Process supplier invoices daily, match credit notes with claims.

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Working towards a professional qualification such as CA or CPA
  • Experience in leading or supervising a team
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar role highly desirable, preferably in a retail industry
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Experience using Pronto is very highly regarded, but not essential
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills
  • Deadline and result driven
  • High level of attention to detail
