Total Tools Morayfield is looking for a Full Time Accounts & Payroll Officer to join the team who has a real passion for retail and providing exceptional customer service. This is an exciting opportunity for you to utilise your current skills and experience within a growing and diverse business.

This position will suit a motivated individual with strong attention to detail and a focus on customer service. Working with a variety of team members and customers, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build solid, long-term relationships.

For this role, you will be primarily focussed on providing the highest level of accounting and administration support to enable the store to exceed customer expectations and support meeting the overall store performance levels.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage customer accounts, including processing credit applications, maintaining the AR subledger, issuing monthly statements and allocating payments.
  • Monitor and follow up overdue accounts, escalate debtor issues, and process supplier rebates and related invoicing.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end payroll: onboarding employees, maintaining data in Tanda and payroll systems, processing wages, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with support office Payroll/HR.
  • Prepare and lodge payroll obligations including superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax and annual reporting to the ATO.
  • Complete month‑end processes across all ledgers (AP, AR, Inventory), including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and ledger rollovers.
  • Produce monthly financial reports including trial balance, profit & loss, and balance sheet, and prepare and lodge the BAS.

 

Does this sound like you?

  • You have a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy being part of a team
  • Demonstrated experience in accounts payable and receivable including invoice processing, reconciliations and payment runs.
  • Hands‑on end‑to‑end payroll processing experience, including superannuation, PAYG and compliance with Australian legislation and General Industry Retail Award.
  • Strong reconciliation skills, including daily bank recs, cash handling, and month‑end processes.
  • Proficiency with accounting/payroll systems (e.g. Tanda, Pronto or similar) and strong Excel capability
  • Experience in a fast‑paced retail or small business environment, managing both finance and administrative tasks.
