Total Tools Morayfield is looking for a Full-Time Payroll & Administration Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented professional to utilise their payroll, bookkeeping and administration expertise within a growing and dynamic retail business.

This position will suit a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in delivering accurate, efficient and professional support. Working closely with store leadership, team members you will play a key role in ensuring payroll, administration and bookkeeping processes are completed accurately and on time.

For this role, you will be primarily focused on providing high-quality payroll, bookkeeping and administrative support to the business while contributing to the overall success and performance of the store.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • End-to-end payroll processing, including wages, allowances, deductions and leave entitlements.
  • Maintaining payroll compliance with Australian legislation and the General Retail Industry Award.
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, reconciliations and payment processing.
  • Assisting with month-end reporting, bank reconciliations and bookkeeping activities.
  • Maintaining employee, payroll and financial records.
  • Supporting onboarding and general office administration.
  • Prepare financial reports, including trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet reports.
  • Assist with BAS preparation and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across payroll, accounts and administration processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency and compliance.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and compliance.

Does this sound like you?

  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Certificate III in Business, Bookkeeping, Accounting Administration or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Payroll Administration qualification or similar payroll qualification.
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, office administration or a similar role.
  • Experience interpreting employment contracts, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and leave provisions. Experience with the General Retail Industry Award is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements, including superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax obligations.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, month-end processes and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll systems such as Tanda, Pronto or similar platforms.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced retail or small business environment, managing both finance and administrative tasks.
