Total Tools Braeside is looking for a Part Time Financial Accountant to support both the Braeside and Carrum Downs Stores.  We are searching for a passionate, driven, and knowledgeable professional who has demonstrated experience in accounts and payroll.  The primary purpose of the Financial Accountant position is to provide the highest level of accounting and administration support to enable the store group to exceed performance levels.  You will have experience working with various stakeholders and are comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

What will you be doing?

  • Preparing, processing, and reconciling monthly accounts and journals, including P&L and Balance Sheets
  • Processing timely and accurate payments, supplier invoices, bank reconciliations and following up on outstanding debtors
  • Bank and store reconciliations
  • Assisting with payroll
  • Assisting with year-end audit requirements
  • Assisting with reporting requirements
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders where needed

  • Comfortable working with various internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to build relationships and influence as necessary
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work through competing priorities
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable with technology – intermediate MS Suite skills are a must, with a strong understanding of MS Excel
  • A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data
  • Commercial and business awareness
  • Organised, methodical and process driven
  • Strong work ethic
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce or similar preferred
  • Experience with retail store accounting highly regarded
